Digipak Research - Group

As it is part of our A2 Course to design our own digipak, I decided to conduct research on the layout of a digipak, previous A2 digipak products and finally research on digipaks out in the current market especially from bands that are categorised in the same genre as our chosen band. From this specific research i was able to gain an idea of what i would like our digipak to look like and also what it takes to produce as successful digipak.

Digipak typically consist of a book-style paperboard or card type of pack, containing usually one or two plastic trays that will hold a CD/DVD inside. The spine of the digipak tends to contain the name of the Band/Artist. 

Firstly, I decided to research the Digipak net/layout. From this i was able to see what is positioned where on the formate from popular Bands/Artists, which influenced my planning of what i would like to go where on our digipak.

After researching the basic formate I wanted to research digipaks which are out in the market at the moment and also digipaks which have a similar genre to that of the crystal whites. As digipak research I analysed the Script 'we cry' album and The kooks inside in/inside out. From this specific research on Bands that have a similar distinct sound to the Crystal whites, we were able to gain an insight on what the layout for our own digipak should look like and also the images and text that needs to be include to aware our target audience.
